SADKO - Tourist Submarine

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The excursion submersible Sadko is designed by the Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering "Rubin" and is intended for performing underwater excursions. The propulsion-steering system of the excursion submersible allows excellent manoeuvring in the horizontal plane within any circulation radius, the ability to turn in her own length, broadside included, and also provides the speed, trim and diving depth control.

THE SAFE OPERATION OF THE EXCURSION SUBMERSIBLE IS ENSURED BY THE FOLLOWING FACTORS:

- the increased strength margin of the hull, main hull structures and portholes;
- double-lock structure of all penetrations;
- positive buoyancy;
- availability of emergency jettisoned ballast;
- availability of emergency buoy and permanent buoy with towing device
- availability of pressure-tightness check system.

ADVANCED SUBMARINE TECHNOLOGES FOR YOUR SAFETY AND COMFORT

In the excursion submersible passenger lounge there are twenty two portholes,which are positioned along both sides with two arm-chairs located by each porthole. The tour guide is also located beside one of the portholes. An increased pressure hull diameter provides free passage between the rows of arm-chairs and better comfort the passengers. The onboard air-conditioning system maintains constant comfortable level of humidity and air temperature of up to 25 C deg. the lounge, while operating underwater. The submersible is equipped with the electric drives only, no hydraulic systems are used. Thus the environmental safety of the excursion submersible goes up. High maneuverebility and low sailing speed enable the submersible to perform the excursion in underwater parks without negative influence on flora and fauna, coral reefs inclusive.
